A listed house, restored by hand

The Pinewood has stood on Welshpool's main street for over two centuries. When we took it on, its cornices were cracked, its shutters painted shut and its oak floors buried under carpet.

Local joiners, plasterers and upholsterers spent months bringing it back. The brass is new; the craftsmanship is old. Every room now carries the same finish, from the dining room to the attic.

We're the flagship of the Hogs Inns family — a little sleeker than our country pubs, but with the same warm welcome, and the same Monty's and Henstone behind the bar.
